RBNY vs Real Salt Lake
- I think the Red Bulls learned a lot last week. Not only did they win for the first time in 2.5 months but they did it without key players (Henry/Marquez), with defense, and against a top team in the league on the road. While this gives them some much needed confidence I think it, most importantly, shows them what they can do when the defend at all costs and don't get caught up in pleasing a home crowd. As RSL dismantled them 3-0 last month I believe they'll be playing a defense-first system again tonight. The Red Bulls couldn only muster up 2 SOG and 1 corner against Dallas and RSL's road defense is outstanding. RSL have the lowest average # of road goals in MLS as their games are playing just 1.75 gpg away from Rio Tinto. The Red Bulls are mainly an over side at home but with a more ball control attack I think they'll worry more about limiting RSL's chances than getting their own. If RBNY go for 3 points and not style points I see a low scoring game here...if they resort back to their "old ways" then I see a high scoring draw or away win. I'll bet small on the former

DC United vs Chivas USA
- CUSA in must-win situation as they've lost 4 straight and directly trail DC after getting beaten by them 3-0 in LA. They were shutout in 3 straight games before hitting for 2 goals in Chicago and it's really been feast or famine for them in road games. They've gotten clean sheeted, yes, but they've also scored a league-leading TWENTY times on the road! Break it down further and you'll see that against the very weak Eastern conference they've done well on the road scoring 2-3-1-2-1-3-3-1 this year. So in 8 road trips to Eastern conference teams they've yet to be shut out and have scored 16 goals (2 per game!). DC a very talented team going forward but no defense at all. They shutout bottom club, Vancouver, here last game for their first clean sheet since May at home. In between those, they had allowed 13 home goals in 6 matches. Offensively they've been very good scoring 14 times in the past 7 games at home (again, 2 gpg!). DC lead the MLS with 3.33 gpg at home while Chivas USA are just a shade under 3 gpg on the road but with a massive 4.13 gpg on the road against Eastern conference clubs this year.
